Bulletin: Co-bishops recommended for NW Texas/New Mexico

Retired Bishops William Hutchinson and Dan Solomon are being recommended as interim co-leaders of the Northwest Texas/New Mexico Area. They will fill the vacancy created when the South Central Jurisdictional Conference retired Bishop Earl Bledsoe involuntarily.

North Central Jurisdiction delegates look to the future

The 2012 North Central Jurisdictional Conference of The United Methodist Church was held July 18-20 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, Ohio. On behalf of the East Ohio Annual (regional) Conference, Bishop John Hopkins welcomed some 300 delegates representing the 11 annual conferences of the region.

The Rev. Michael McKee is the third bishop-elect in the South Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. McKee’s election on the 23rd ballot on April 20 marks the completion of the election of bishops by the 2012 jurisdictional conferences in the United States.

Bulletin: Cynthia Fierro Harvey elected bishop

Cynthia Fierro Harvey

The Rev. Cynthia Fierro Harvey is the first bishop to be elected by the 2012 South Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. Now deputy general secretary for the United Methodist Committee on Relief, Harvey was elected on the fifth ballot during the July 18-21 meeting in Oklahoma City.
